3M™ VHB™ Tape 4914 is a double-sided foam tape using durable acrylic adhesive with viscoelastic properties. It’s much easier to use as a permanent bonding method than mechanical fasteners or liquid adhesives while providing excellent shear strength, long-term durability, and a virtually invisible fastening that keeps surfaces smooth. It creates a permanent seal against water and supports the use of thinner, light weight, and dissimilar materials. The bond has extraordinary strength with high-surface-energy (HSE) substrates such as aluminum, stainless and galvanized steel, composites, acrylic, polycarbonate, and both painted or sealed wood and concrete. The bond works with substrates ranging from low- to high-surface-energy such as various metals, glass, plastics, and paints. Its conformable foam supports good contact between substrates, even when slightly mismatched. The 3M™ VHB™ Tape 5909 is a slightly thicker version of 3M™ VHB™ Tape 5906.
